Picnic in the park

Okay so it was not really a picnic but it was in the park and involved a blanket. :) It was such a lovely warm stormy (rare for Utah) day that I could not just sit inside. I had to get out and head to my favorite park in SLC. Memory Grove. And I do indeed have many fond memories there, so it was perfect.

I took a book and a blanket and headed out to go to the park. On my way I decided I wanted a little treat and stopped in at the Seven Eleven for a slurpee. Now before you judge, this was a day of memories and the first slurpee I had ever had was with my best friend and they kinda are good and perfect for a warm day.

When I got to the park I made a few wishes on some dandelion and spread out my blanket to and settled in to read. But then shortly after I was all ready it started to poor rain!

I love rain and I dont mind walking in it but I was a little disappointed that I had to head home and could not enjoy being outside.... better luck tomorrow?

We will see. :)

Life updates and set backs

So I am experiencing a few set backs on my life plan to take over the world. While I am working on these I have decided to come to Utah for a bit and spend some time with friends and family.

I am staying with my sister and having a grand time being able to hangout with my little nephew Rowan. He is such a sweetie and has an awesome personality.

I also have been able to spend some time with some great friends and getting the chance to regroup while I work on my business has been great!

While I cant wait to return to SF I do love being here with my friends and family. I have missed them all. :)

I will keep you all updated!

PS. Food prices here are insane! How do people do it! $6 for mint! I could get twice the amount for $2 in SF!

Crazy! Its the little things!

Afternoon Tea

So for mothers day my sister Trixi arranged to take my mom to afternoon tea at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City and invited me to join. It was lovely. The tea was a cranberry black tea with some great afternoon treats. We had a lot of fun taking pictures and being silly.

Below are some photos.

Happy weekend!

On a train bound for nowhere....

With all the many songs from my childhood that have to do with train rides, mostly Simon and Garfunkel and of course the Gambler by Kenny Rogers, I figured it was time to take a train trip. So bound to visit the family in Salt Like City, I boarded my first Amtrak train.

Great views, okay food and lots of time to read. I was loving it! But I did go couch and not in a sleeper so about 3 hours in, the seat was uncomfortable. Tried to nap but could not get quite comfortable enough. So I was up reading from 7:05am to 3:05am. With small intermissions of trying to sleep and the water on trains is not so great.

But I did enjoy myself and the people were really nice and friendly and gave us great historic tips along the way. Now have a list of things that can make my next train trip a bit more comfortable and a sleeper is a must!

As my friend said "Train trips are relaxing and nostalgic with a great view"

Below are some pictures... Hello SLC.
