Family Owned

One of the things I like about San Francisco is that a lot of businesses are small or family owned. The print shop down the street, the deli next door, the flower shop around the corner or the book store on the next block. Even big companies that have a few locations, even outside of San Francisco are family owned businesses and have been that way for generations. They are the type of companies that will still give you a good deal because they know you or will let you pay later if you forgot your wallet and getting a donation from them doesn't have to go though 50 people and a board approval. They smile when they see you coming though the door and ask how your day is, because they really do care.

For a big city, its a small world.

Kinda cool don't you ya think?

Cheers,

Sassi

I love that type of thing, at the indoor farmers market someone gave us food on credit because we forgot cash...we just paid them when we got around to it and it wasn't a big deal felt so neighborly!

Yeah it's like that all over Salt Lake City. Our cafe in the Hardware Building, the Scandanavian shop {sorely missing those cookies!}, and Vosen's bread to name a few. In all fairness though, Starbucks has on more than one occassion treated yours truly to morning coffee when a wallet was forgotten.
